A slightly dated ship
A well-maintained and well-organized ship, despite being somewhat dated.
A little small, but it allowed us to dock at some wonderful ports.
MSC Opera is now a rather dated ship, and the problems on board were evident from the very first day. When turning on the cold water at the sink to wash, hot water came out, while the shower produced cold water even when the hot tap was used. The public toilets on the various decks were often either dirty or out of order. Furthermore, the water dispensed by the new AQUA stations tasted unpleasant, not to mention the water available without using the card, which tasted strongly of chlorine.
I have been cruising for many years, and this was my 25th cruise. Unfortunately, MSC Opera is an ageing ship and requires substantial modernisation throughout.
The ship is quite dated and small, with limited entertainment options for adults. The cabins were kept very clean. The food at the buffet was disappointing, while the restaurant was much better and offered vegan options, although there is still room for improvement overall. The kids’ club, on the other hand, was exceptional, with great attention paid to the children and plenty of fun activities. A special thank you to Emily and Roberto, as well as to the other staff members whose names we unfortunately cannot remember. They immediately made our child feel at ease, and he was always happy to go back whenever possible.
Small ship, with few livable spaces, but still equipped with everything needed for all ages.
In this case too, it was already clear beforehand that Opera is an older ship, so there is little point in criticising that. However, it is very well organised, with highly capable staff who are friendly, courteous and extremely polite. The crew is truly fantastic. The only drawback, in my opinion, is that since there are no speciality restaurants, they are not organised to offer a replacement for the complimentary Diamond dinner.
Friendly and courteous staff, clean ship, maximum efficiency.
I’m not giving 10 stars because we had an issue with the toilet in the cabin.
