MSC, Mediterranean Shipping Company, was founded in 1970 with a fleet composed of three cargo ships bought buy Gianluigi Aponte, a mariner, former bank cashier, who decided to buy his first ship. In 2017, MSC Meraviglia joined the fleet, a celebration of splendor, elegance, and fun. MSC Cruises continuously adds new ships to its fleet, featuring increasingly sustainable designs with a modern and futuristic touch.

Over the years, MSC Seaside (2017), MSC Seaview (2018), MSC Bellissima, and MSC Grandiosa (both launched in 2019) joined the fleet, followed by MSC Virtuosa in 2020. The MSC Cruises family continues to grow with MSC Seashore (2021), MSC Seascape, and MSC World Europa (2022), along with the stunning MSC Euribia (2023), the first ship with a hull decorated by an artist symbolizing respect for the marine environment.
