Rijeka

Rijeka is a Croatian seaport and city located in the Gulf of Kvarner, on the Adriatic coast. It is the third largest city in the country.
Before being annexed to the Yugoslav Republic in the twentieth century, it underwent Austro-Hungarian and later Italian dominations at the end of the nineteenth century. Today, the country has an excellent shipbuilding industry.

In this location there are some historical places of interest, which are located in the so-called Old Town preserved since ancient times. It is decorated with images of great Austrian emperors such as Charles VI and Leopold I. One of the most important architectural complexes is the castle of Tersatto, which is located on one of the highest hills. The construction of the castle took place in the 13th century, consisting of 538 steps of steep stairs. For those who want to take a more comfortable climb, they can use the funicular. After visiting the castle you can observe and admire the magnificent panorama of the city. In addition to the beautiful fortification, built in late Gothic style and its panorama, on the hill you will also find the Temple of the Madonna di Tersatto and the Franciscan convent, the most important religious places in the area. The most notable part of the city is the central one, called Corso. Here the streets are entirely reserved for pedestrians. During a walk you can see the shops and popular restaurants, visit the new cinema or simply relax in beautiful parks, where one of the most colorful markets in the city is located. Traditional souvenirs, which the locals call moric and are represented by small silver objects with the image of the Moor's head, are really very popular with visitors. We associate its original souvenirs with many interesting legends, known to all merchants and inhabitants. This beautiful place attracts many tourists fascinated by the Mediterranean climate and the beautiful landscapes composed of steep mountain ranges, accompanied by a crystal clear sea. The nearest airport is 35 km away, on the island of Krk. It provides European destinations such as Oslo, London and Stuttgart. The Croatian Railways offers connections from Fiume to the heart of Europe. The ferry line connects the port to several major coastal cities in the Mediterranean.

Hvar

Located on the Adriatic Sea, the island of Lesina is one of the largest islands overlooking the Croatian coast. An ancient city with a rich past, it is located on the west side of the island, towards the south. A popular tourist destination, not only in summer but also in spring and autumn, it becomes the most visited destination in Croatia.

Saranda

Located in the extreme south-west of Albania along the Ionian Sea, opposite the Greek island of Corfu, Saranda is a popular Albanian city, one of the most important tourist cities on the Ionian coast.

Ksamil is a small village near Saranda (15 km) and also has a beautiful beach surrounded by small islands accessible by swimming.

Castle Lekures dating back to the 16th century is located on the hills of Saranda and offers panoramic views of the Ionian Sea. The dominant position of the castle was a strategic point for protecting the city from invasions: on one side the sea and on the other a large tray suitable for cultivation and breeding. The castle has a splendid terrace and a restaurant. It is reachable by car or on foot.
The Butrint National Heritage Park World Heritage by UNESCO, is a natural park, rich in wildlife such as foxes, reptiles, martens, seals, turtles and various birds. The climate is mild and sunny for most of the year. The economy of the city of Saranda is mainly based on agricultural products from the Valtos valley, on the cultivation of mussels from the salt lake of Vouthrotos (Butrint).
In addition to the slow and constant growth of tourism, fishing is another source of wealth.

Argostoli

Argostoli is the capital and main port of the Greek island of Kefalonia. It is located 100 km west of Patras and has a population of about 13,000 inhabitants. The island is part of the archipelago of the Ionian Islands or Eptaneso.
This small city has been the capital of the island from 1757 to today and is located in the center of the southern part of the territory, surrounded by mountains and green forests.
Argostoli has monuments of great historical interest, such as the Archaeological Museum, which preserves archaeological finds from the Mycenaean to the Hellenistic and Roman periods. The Korgialenios Museum, a historical and ethnographic museum of the island, which contains a detailed reconstruction of the uses, customs and traditions of the place. The lighthouse of San Teodoro, located a couple of kilometers from Argostoli, built by the English under the command of Governor Napier and consisting of a small circular building with white Doric columns.

From the walk in Lithostrotos avenue, the most commercial street in the capital, you will find the beautiful Orthodox Church of San Spiridione and the interesting clock tower and its splendid bell.
The stone bridge, composed of 650 meters in length and called Drapano Bridge, is located at the entrance to the capital flanked by a small pyramid in the center and dedicated to Charles de Bosset, builder of the bridge.
The modern and cosmopolitan city of Argostoli is constantly moving with interesting activities to offer. It has an elegant maritime promenade lined with palm trees and beautifully paved with colored stones.

The road ends at the small ferry pier where boats leave for the city of Lixouri and where small fishing boats dock.
The central square of the city, called "Plateia Valianou", is a large site full of numerous restaurants, clubs and bars. During the summer evenings, the square becomes really crowded.
