Balboa

Balboa

Balboa, located at the end of the Panama Canal, is known for being the port of Panama City. Geographically it is close to the canal docks and the Ancón hill behind it which separates it from Panama City.

Balboa owes its name to the Spanish explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa who reached this land in 1914. Before being annexed to Panama City as a district, Balboa was for a long time controlled by the Americans who took care of the construction of many of the buildings and structures still present today within the city.

The canal on one side and the hills on the other create an enchanting landscape where the blue of the sea and the green of the hills merge in a unique way creating a perfect combination. Among the various activities that can be carried out in Balboa, hiking is certainly one of the main ones. The paths immersed in the green will allow you to fully experience the beauty of the nature of this place and to enjoy the suggestive view of all its beauties and uniqueness from above.

The best way to reach the city is on board a cruise ship. Choose a cruise that departs from Balboa or has the city as a stop to admire up close the unique beauty of this territory and to set off to discover Central America, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean.

Limón

Limón

Colorful open-air markets, intense perfumes and spectacular colors, all seasoned by the contagious good humor of the population.

Puerto Limon or simply Limon was founded in 1502 when Columbus stopped here during his exploration of the new world. Located 165 km east of San José, it has an authentic and less touristy air than other cities. Costa Rica, one of the most geographically diverse countries in the world, is renowned for its wonderful tropical scenery; a corner of paradise that offers adventures in the jungle and a pristine tropical forest. The possibilities here are many: return to nature and admire the giant sea turtles laying their eggs on the beaches of Tortuguero; coral bottoms in Cahuita; sail to Puerto Viejo; Drift along the canal in the jungle from Tortuguero to Barra del Colorado or look for animals and birds among the mangroves.

San Andres

San Andres

Isla de Providencia

Isla de Providencia

Providencia (Isla de Providencia) is a municipality and an island of Colombia, forming part of the Department of the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina. The territory of the municipality also includes the island of Santa Catalina. The island belongs to Colombia, although it is considered a Caribbean island. It is 7 km long and 4 km wide and is located 90 km north of San Andrés. The maximum altitude is 360 m above sea level. It was one of the first Puritan colonies from the early 1630s to the 1640s. This colony was the sister of the much better-known colonies in Massachusetts Bay.
George Town

George Town

Capital of Grand Cayman, one of the three magnificent tropical islands, which Christopher Columbus called "Las Tortugas" (the turtles) for the sea creatures he found abundant in the crystal clear waters of the ocean.

Georgetown is the capital of the Cayman Islands and one of the most popular cruise ship stops in the Caribbean, thanks to its white sand beaches, year-round tropical climate, and crystal-clear blue waters. Don't miss Stingray City and diving and snorkeling near the coral reef. Georgetown offers an abundance of duty-free shopping, restaurants, and cafes. If you can get away from the beach on your own, try an excursion to one of the few tropical rainforests in the Antilles.

Cayman Brac

Cayman Brac

Cayman Brac is located in the Caribbean Sea about 143 km northeast of Grand Cayman, is about 19 km long with an average width of 2 km. The characteristic of its territory is the limestone relief (in English: The Bluff) located in the center of the island which crosses it almost for its entire length, reaching a maximum height of 43 m above sea level; the word Brac, from which the island takes its name, is nothing more than the term used in the Gaelic language to indicate this natural element. The peculiarity of the territory is the greatest tourist attraction, its natural conformation allows numerous excursions to observe the local fauna and flora. Other places of interest are the lighthouse, the parrot reserve, the Cayman Brac Community Park which collects numerous native plant species and the local historical museum. In the western part of the island there is an airport (Gerrard Smith International Airport) served by the flag carrier, Cayman Airways. The main resource is tourism; the island is frequented by diving enthusiasts but also attracts numerous people interested in the naturalistic and cultural aspects of its territory. In particular, there are numerous caves that can be visited. Because of its conformation, Cayman Brac is also a destination for climbing enthusiasts, who compete on the rock walls overlooking the sea. In addition to tourism, the processing of local stone (called Caymanite) by jewelery artisans is developed. Some of the jewels made by local artisans were donated to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Andrew during the official visit made in 1994.
